Mark is a versatile and innovative solutions consultant with strong leadership, project management, technical, and engagement skills. He has demonstrated success delivering business results for Fortune global 500 companies; he is passionate about bringing people and ideas together to create and implement solutions.

 

Mark's expertise encompasses cloud architectures and services, storage, network, and server infrastructures, media-centric workflows, compliance frameworks including ISO/IEC27001, AICPA SOC (1 2 3), MPAA and CDSA, risk analysis, and program management.

Prior to Digitalmarx, Mark managed the engineering team at Microsoft Studios, initially a research pilot in 1995 growing into the largest and most advanced media production facility in the Northwest. He led the development and implementation of ground-breaking media production, digital asset management and IT infrastructure services and solutions. 

 

At Tera Computer, now Cray; and before that at the California Institute of Technology's Concurrent Supercomputing Center, Mark managed advanced IT infrastructures for super-computing R&D environments.

 

Mark earned his B.S. in electronic engineering at Caltech in Pasadena, CA.

Marc has worked in and around technical program management, software development, and technical writing for over 20 years.  He loves the challenge of finding the right messages and approaches to inspire and empower people and projects. 

 

His scientific background informs his ability to research and present complex concepts for documenting and guiding technical projects.

 

He started his career as a research scientist in Chemical Engineering but got the itch for software and services and jumped in head first in the late 1990s working at startups, followed by Microsoft, Amazon, and Google in various program management, development, and writing roles.

 

Marc's current focus is on developer documentation for cloud services, creating user-focused and impactful documentation and programming samples. He is experienced in common programming languages and frameworks and loves working with the latest ideas and technologies.

Marc earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Rochester; M.S. in Chemical Engineering at Caltech in Pasadena; and his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Washington in Seattle.
